Small brown flower forms and blue sprays repeat down the length of this lovely rug. Across a dusty rose field, small brown flower forms, rosettes and blue branching sprays with leaf and stem details repeat down the length of the rug. A blue geometric medallion sits at the center, and the motifs are mirrored above and below it. A wide cream border surrounds the field, carrying delicate scrolling vine forms and small blossoms in brown and teal. Worn low in spots, the face has also been lightly washed, which softened the colors without reaching the drawing. Tight patterning links the soft rose and cool blue across the surface. At 3'9" by 7'1", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.
Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
About Isparta rugs
The Isparta carpet factory, a center of the craft for a wide region, kept working until 2008. The Isparta Carpet Palace was in its day the largest carpet exchange in its region and in all of Turkey. Isparta lies in the lake country of southwestern Turkey, where workshops through the twentieth century wove Persian-influenced floral designs in a distinctly Turkish palette. The palette is chalkier and softer, with more cream and rose than the deep madder of Persia. The dusty rose field and the cream border hold the blue sprays in a balanced, even cadence.

Full care guideReturns
If a rug isn’t right for your space, get in touch within 7 days of delivery (14 days in the European Union) and we’ll help arrange a return or exchange. Because each piece is one of a kind, we handle every return personally.
Returns & exchangesMade entirely by hand.
Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
