Rosettes and diamond shapes in an all-over repeat make this a lovely rug. Dainty rosettes and diamond shapes cover the muted pink field, linked by fine curling vines in cream and blue. The design is an all-over repeat with no central medallion to gather the eye. The pattern runs straight to the edges, leaving the corners open without separate spandrels. A light antique wash has eased the colors and left the drawing clear. Pale patches show where the weave sits thin across the face. It anchors a small sitting area, and the blue notes cool the warm pink ground. At 3'8" by 6'2", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.

It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
About Isparta rugs
The Isparta carpet factory, a center of the craft for a wide region, kept working until 2008. The Isparta Carpet Palace was in its day the largest carpet exchange in its region and in all of Turkey. Isparta sits in the lake country of southwestern Turkey, and its workshops spent the twentieth century weaving Persian-influenced floral designs in a distinctly Turkish palette. That palette is softer and chalkier, with more cream and rose than the deep madder of Persia. This rug keeps that soft palette and the orderly floral drawing across its field. Cream and blue rosettes and diamonds repeat across the pink ground.

Shipping is free and fully insured in the US and Canada. To the UK, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand we ship fully insured, with rates calculated at checkout. Orders are processed and shipped within one to four days and most arrive within about ten days, sometimes as fast as three depending on your location, carefully wrapped, with tracking sent the moment your rug leaves us.

Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
