Scrolling vines spread evenly over this charming runner. On a cream field, scrolling vines carry small rosettes and leaves in muted pink, sage and gray brown. The drawing spreads evenly over the whole field with no single large medallion. The main border is sage, set with delicate white flower heads and curling stems. Thin guard bands of gray brown and ivory dots flank the frame on either side. Pile runs low here and there over the field, though the drawing stays clear. The soft sage and pale rose brighten a narrow passage. At 3'2" by 6'8", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.

It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
About Isparta rugs
The Isparta carpet factory, a center of the craft for a wide region, kept working until 2008. The Isparta Carpet Palace was in its day the largest carpet exchange in its region and in all of Turkey. Isparta lies in the lake country of southwestern Turkey, where workshops wove Persian-influenced floral designs in a distinctly Turkish palette. The palette is chalkier and softer, with more cream and rose than the deep madder of Persia. Because these are town rugs, the drawing is orderly and the field looks even from a distance. This narrow rug keeps that orderly vine work, with the sage border holding the pale field in check. Muted pink blossoms and gray brown outlines rest against the cream ground.

Orders are processed and shipped within one to four days and most arrive within about ten days, sometimes as fast as three depending on your location, carefully wrapped, with tracking sent the moment your rug leaves us.

Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
