An all-over repeat of vines and small rosettes runs across this charming rug. The gray beige field carries an all-over repeat of lovely scrolling vines and small rosettes in gray brown, with no single focal point to gather the eye. The pattern fills the ground in a dense, orderly lattice that reads calm from a distance. A narrow brown border frames the field. The pile is low in places across the face, and the foundation shows where the drawing has softened. A full antique wash has left no color at strength. Brown and beige tones spread lightly across a small sitting area. At 3'10" by 6'11", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.
Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
About Isparta rugs
The Isparta Yarn Factory was founded in 1924, in the first years of the Turkish Republic, with the support of Isparta entrepreneurs. The Isparta Carpet Palace was in its day the largest carpet exchange in its region and in all of Turkey. Isparta sits in the lake country of southwestern Turkey, and its workshops spent the twentieth century weaving Persian-influenced floral designs in a distinctly Turkish palette. That palette is softer and chalkier, with more cream and rose than the deep madder of Persia. The vine and rosette lattice runs symmetrically across the washed ground. The gray beige field and brown border keep the pattern steady and even.

Shipping is free and fully insured in the US and Canada. To the UK, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand we ship fully insured, with rates calculated at checkout. Orders are processed and shipped within one to four days and most arrive within about ten days, sometimes as fast as three depending on your location, carefully wrapped, with tracking sent the moment your rug leaves us.

Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
