2946 · 3'5" x 10'2" Persian Hamedan Runner Rug

Gray brown lobed medallions with cream scroll edges sit in a column on this lovely rug. Three lobed medallions fill the deep red field, worked in gray brown with cream scroll edges and a blue rosette at each core. They sit in a column down the center with open red ground between them. The beautiful main border runs on a slate blue ground, carrying large pink and cream palmettes with curling leaves in olive and blue. A narrow cream stripe with a blue zigzag edges the border on the inside, and a pink and blue sawtooth runs along the outer edge. The pile is low in places on the field and border, where small pale specks of foundation show. It anchors a long passage, and the slate blue border steadies the warm red center. At 3'5" by 10'2", it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
