4460 · 7'10" x 10'11" Persian Ferdos Oversized Rug

The diagonal lattice of linked compartments is lovely across the cream field. Linked compartments with notched corners form a diagonal lattice across the cream field. Each holds either a cross with leaf-tipped arms in dark brown and gray, or a leaf spray in light brown. No medallion interrupts the repeat, and the lattice runs up to the border without corner pieces. The splendid light brown main border carries cream hooked leaf devices and dark leaf sprays, inside a gray guard band set with small brown flowers. The center has worn lower than the edges, yet every motif stays clear. The repeating pattern covers a large floor evenly, and the colors suit warm wood and plain furniture. At 7'10" by 10'11", it fits a dining table for four with the chairs pulled out, or a living room with the sofa and chairs fully on it.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
