8451 · 5'6" x 10'3" Turkish Isparta Area Rug

A lattice of curling vines and flower sprays spreads across this lovely rug. Across an ivory field, a lattice of dainty curling vines and flower sprays in gray brown and gray beige repeats without a central medallion. Small rosettes sit inside the diamond shapes formed by the vine work. The all-over pattern runs to the edge of the field on all four sides. The wide frame in gray beige holds a chain of small blossoms and leaves, edged by thin lines in gray brown. No color is left at strength: a full antique wash has taken the rug to one warm level. Pile has worn low in places, leaving the foundation visible where the drawing reads faintest. The tight drawing holds the gray brown and beige tones back against pale floors. At 5'6" by 10'3", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
