Hooked and abstract figures run down the length of this charming rug. At the center, a column of hooked and abstract figures in charcoal and cream sits on a gray beige field with red showing through at the ends. The design repeats down the length without a single medallion and runs freely to the edges. A splendid red main border frames the piece, carrying a zigzag line in dark brown and beige. Thin dark brown bands edge the border on both sides. The pile is worn low across the face, and the foundation shows through in many places. A narrow passage suits this rug, with the rose and red tones sitting gently together. At 2'11" by 5'9", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.
