Rows of handsome guls in red and rose repeat across a camel center panel, framed by a faded red band and a wide deep red border. The drawing runs as a continuous lattice with no central medallion or corner spandrels to break the pattern. The border carries near-black geometric motifs and small cream accents, edged by thin bands in near-black and tan. The pile is low in places across the center, and the foundation shows where the color looks paler. The warm red and camel tones sit underfoot in a narrow passage. At 3' by 6'2", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.

It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
About Baluch rugs
In Afghanistan most Baluch lived until recently in tents or small villages close to the western border. A Baluch bride and her mother wove the balisht, a pillow or grain bag that was often part of the dowry, and such bags were usually woven in pairs. The semi-nomadic groups of eastern Persia and western Afghanistan are the source of Baluch weaving. Because the looms were portable, the formats are small, and the designs repeat a handful of motifs carried from camp to camp. This rug keeps that small format and the repeating geometric vocabulary across its face. The camel center holds the red guls in a steady lattice, while the deep red border frames the length with angular shapes in near-black.

Orders are processed and shipped within one to four days and most arrive within about ten days, sometimes as fast as three depending on your location, carefully wrapped, with tracking sent the moment your rug leaves us.

Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
