3342 · 4'9" x 6'6" Persian Shiraz Area Rug

The two hexagonal medallions on this lovely rug are steel blue, each with a cream star at its core. Over a rust field, two stepped hexagonal medallions in steel blue stack down the center, each with a cream star at its core. Small star motifs in slate blue and cream fill the open ground between the medallions. Handsome triangular pieces in dark green and dark brown sit beside the medallions down both sides of the field. The main border is gray beige, carrying a chain of small flowers in blue, rust and green. Narrow guard stripes in rust and gray brown frame this outer band on both sides. The pile is low along the center line and in scattered patches, and the foundation shows pale there. The dense drawing keeps the rust, steel blue and gray beige in clear balance. At 4'9" by 6'6", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
