4775 · 4'11" x 10'6" Persian Nahavand Area Rug

A flowering tree stands in a blue pot in each cream corner panel of this lovely rug. At the center, a large terracotta diamond medallion holds a blue stepped core and four blue birds set among small blossoms. Around it lies a near-black ground that stretches into stepped pendants above and below. Four cream corner panels each hold a flowering tree standing in a blue pot, with a bird beside it. The main border has a navy ground and carries large rosettes and small blossoms, with a burgundy guard outside and a narrow vine band inside. The pile stays full over the medallion, the corners and the border. Terracotta and cream bring light across the dark ground, making this a warm center for a small room. At 4'11" by 10'6", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
