Stepped diamond medallions in red and coral line the center of this charming rug. Over a navy field, beautiful stepped diamond medallions in red and coral, touched with tan, align down the center. The middle medallion is dark navy and holds a bold red cross with hooked arms, with olive tan around it. Red and coral corner pieces with stepped edges fill each end. A camel border carries lovely geometric flower heads in red and blue between narrow navy guard stripes. The pile is low in places, and pale dots mark where the foundation appears. Warm red and tan tones fill this small rug, sized for an entry or bedside space. At 1'9" by 3'7", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.

It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
About Vist rugs
Vist is a village in the Isfahan region, southwest of Khansar and close to Golpayegan. The weaving families of Vist came as nomads from villages around Hamedan, centuries ago. Young Vist weavers, just starting out, often wove a simpler boteh layout as practice. Vist rugs share straightforward geometry. This rug keeps that direct geometry in its stepped diamonds and hooked cross motif. Its compact layout gathers the bold red and dark blue contrast into a modest accent piece.

Shipping is free and fully insured in the US and Canada. To the UK, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand we ship fully insured, with rates calculated at checkout. Orders are processed and shipped within one to four days and most arrive within about ten days, sometimes as fast as three depending on your location, carefully wrapped, with tracking sent the moment your rug leaves us.

Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
