5348 · 4'10" x 8'3" Persian Hamedan Area Rug

A lobed medallion on a near-black ground holds the center of this charming rug. On a deep red field, sprays of cream, pink and blue flowers surround a central medallion. The lobed medallion has a near-black ground filled with delicate cream rosettes and pink blossoms, and a paisley pendant sits above and below it. Gorgeous cream spandrels fill the four corners, outlined in blue and holding large flower clusters. The main border runs steel blue, with red flower heads set between tan leaf stripes. A narrow red band edges it on the outside and a fine cream line on the inside. The pile is full, with small low specks scattered through the red field. The dense drawing keeps the deep red lively beside the cream and steel blue. At 4'10" by 8'3", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
