5412 · 1'6" x 10'2" Persian Gharajeh Runner Rug

A column of cream hexagons with blue cores runs down the center of this lovely runner. The deep red field is crowded with small geometric motifs in navy, cream and brown. A column of separate medallions runs down the center, cream hexagons with blue cores alternating with smaller navy cross-shaped figures that have pink centers. The pattern reaches the very edge, since the field has no corner pieces to frame it. A narrow dark brown border closes both sides, and a thin cream beaded guard stripe runs inside it. The pile is low in small patches, and the foundation shows as pale spots. It suits a long passage, and the repeating shapes keep the eye moving forward. At 1'6" by 10'2", it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
