Separate medallions in a column run down this remarkable rug. Set within a burgundy field, a column of separate medallions runs down the center, copper and steel blue at the top and dark burgundy-black hexagons outlined in cream below. Small geometric motifs fill the red ground between these distinct shapes. The handsome deep red main border carries angular cream vines and stepped forms, flanked by a muted pink guard stripe with a dark zigzag line. Small pink flowers and tiny hooked marks dot the red around them. Full pile covers the field and the border bands. Copper cores warm the long red line as the runner stretches down a narrow passage. At 2'7" by 10'10", it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.
