8035 · 4'8" x 8'4" Turkish Manisa Area Rug

A large lobed medallion in gray brown stands out on this charming rug. The cream field holds a large lobed medallion worked in gray brown, its center filled with dainty scrolling vines and small rosettes. Heavy acanthus scrolls curl from the medallion toward the top and bottom, and finer vine sprays fill the open ground at the sides. Vine work in the same gray brown gathers in the four corners and echoes the central design. A narrow border of small gray brown squares edges the rug, with a pale band of fine scrolling vines inside it. The pile lies low and level, and a light antique wash has softened the ground while the drawing stays clear. The gray brown pattern stands out gently against the pale ground. At 4'8" by 8'4", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
