8165 · 5'4" x 8'10" Turkish Manisa Area Rug

Gray beige vines and small brown blossoms surround a central diamond on this lovely rug. The cream field holds a loose scatter of dainty gray beige vines and small brown blossoms around a central diamond shape. This medallion has a pale cream center drawn in thin brown outlines and small motifs inside a scalloped frame, with gorgeous pendants reaching toward the top and bottom. Large vine scrolls occupy each corner of the ground instead of formal spandrels. The main border is gray brown, carrying small animals, geometric forms and rosettes. Narrow guard stripes in cream and dark brown edge the wide band on both sides. The pile is worn in places and the center reads paler. In a sunlit space, the brown notes warm the pale field. At 5'4" by 8'10", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
