A large lobed medallion sits on the terracotta field of this charming rug. Vines and small blossoms in cream, steel blue and gray brown cover the terracotta field. A large lobed medallion sits at the center, its core a small diamond shape filled with fine floral marks. Scalloped spandrels curve into each corner, holding cream and blue motifs against the warm ground. The main border runs in steel blue, set with small geometric figures and rosettes in cream and dark brown. Narrow guard stripes of diagonal dashes in dark brown and cream frame the border on both sides. Over the field the terracotta reads paler, and the foundation shows where the pile runs low. It suits a room with warm wood tones, the steel blue border cooling the terracotta field. At 6'1" by 9'9", it fits a living room with the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug, or beside a queen bed.
