A lobed medallion in blue, teal and cream holds the center of this lovely rug. Worked on a terracotta field, a large lobed medallion in blue, teal and cream holds a small diamond core. Rounded pendants extend from the top and bottom of this shape into the open ground. Gorgeous cream spandrels with scrolling teal vines fill the four corners. A wide blue border carries geometric motifs in cream, teal and rust, between narrow guard bands of small dark marks. Wear is heavy: the pile has worn thin over the whole field in vertical streaks, and the weave shows through. It brings a warm earth tone to the floor, balanced by the cool blue notes in the pattern. At 6'2" by 9'3", it fits a living room with the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug, or beside a queen bed.
