A vertical column of pale blue rosettes makes this a lovely rug. The ivory field carries a vertical column of pale blue rosettes, flowers seen from above, linked by charming scrolling vines in tan and brown. Small leaves in sage and camel fill the open spaces between the central floral forms. A gray beige main border frames the design with a repeat of delicate geometric flower heads in cream and brown. Thin guard stripes in light blue and dark brown separate this wide frame from the lighter center. Wear has thinned the pile across the field, and the ivory fades where the foundation appears. This ground lets the cool blue and tan notes stay distinct against the warm light. At 5'7" by 10'2", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
About Manisa rugs
The carpets of Kula, in Manisa province, first appear in the 17th century, and the town made its best pieces in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Metropolitan Museum of Art notes that the workshops of Gordes, a Manisa town, were particularly active in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Inland from the Aegean coast, Manisa weaves between two traditions. The geometric medallions of Anatolian village work and the softer floral borders of the western workshops often meet in the same rug. This rug retains that blend, featuring round rosettes down the center and a geometric flower repeat in the border. The palette is soft and faded, in ivory, pale blue and tan.

Orders are processed and shipped within one to four days and most arrive within about ten days, sometimes as fast as three depending on your location, carefully wrapped, with tracking sent the moment your rug leaves us.

Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
