8931 · 3'5" x 10'2" Persian Hamedan Runner Rug

Small rosettes and geometric vines run down the length of this wonderful rug. Across a deep red field, geometric vines and small rosettes in navy, cream and ochre repeat down the length. A long hexagonal panel frames the center, holding the same dense drawing without a single medallion core. Handsome navy spandrels sit in the four corners outside this panel, set with small cream and red motifs. Cream carries the wide border, with a pretty scroll of red and navy blossoms touched with green. Narrow guard stripes in navy and red, one edged with small cream teeth, close the field on either side. Pile is full over the field and the border. It anchors a long passage, the cream border lightening the deep red ground. At 3'5" by 10'2", it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
