3018 · 3'7" x 7'1" Persian Ferdos Area Rug

A stepped hexagonal medallion with a red core stands on this charming rug. At the center, a gorgeous stepped hexagonal medallion in near-black and navy with a red core sits on a deep red field scattered with small geometric blossoms. Smaller stepped crown forms in tan and cream sit above and below it. Beautiful smoke gray triangular pieces fill the four corners, each holding a bold angular motif outlined in cream. A cream band of small brown figures edges the field, inside a near-black border carrying geometric forms in muted pink and tan. The pile is low in places across the red ground, and the foundation shows in a few patches. It holds the eye in a narrow hall, where the strong red and dark geometry ground the space. At 3'7" by 7'1", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
