3069 · 4'2" x 9'4" Persian Hosseinabad Area Rug

A dense herati lattice makes this a lovely rug. The deep red field carries a dense herati lattice, the fish-and-leaf lattice, worked in cream, brown and touches of rust. A gorgeous cream diamond medallion sits at the center, holding a small floral core. Cream triangular corner pieces carry bold floral sprays in red and dark brown. The main border runs rust and brown, set with a row of small rosettes, flowers seen from above. Narrow guard stripes in near-black and cream edge the border on both sides. A vertical band of pale wear runs down the center, and pale foundation shows in worn patches. A warm red line stretches down the passage, with cream corners breaking up the heavy red. At 4'2" by 9'4", it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.
