3564 · 6'7" x 10'2" Persian Kashmar Area Rug

The diamond medallion of this wonderful rug sits at the center and has a cream ground with a blue core. Graceful scrolling vines, palmettes and flower heads in cream, sage, teal and blue fill the burgundy field, which reads a clear crimson. A diamond medallion at the center has a cream ground with a blue core, wrapped in a band of gray brown scrollwork, and pendants run along the long axis. Splendid cream corner pieces hold blue palmettes. Small teal and tan flowers and a few gold leaves gather in the gaps between the vines. A narrow border of small pink and cream flowers edges the rug, inside a thin outer band. Full pile covers the whole face, and the fine drawing stays clear. The dense drawing settles a room, and the blue keeps the crimson from heating it. At 6'7" by 10'2", it fits a living room with the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug, or beside a queen bed.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
