Pointed pendants reach above and below the lobed diamond medallion of this charming rug. Worked on a burgundy field, pretty scrolling vines and small blossoms in pink, cream, pale blue and tan fill the ground. A lobed diamond medallion rests at the middle, ringed in near-black, with a cream core that holds a pale blue star and a red center. Pointed pendants reach above and below it. Cream and pale blue corner pieces sit inside near-black lobes at the four corners. Around it all, a near-black main border carries a scroll of vines and palmettes in red, pink and pale blue. Rose and tan guard stripes with tiny red and blue flowers run along both edges. Small pale specks of low pile are scattered through the field and the border. The dense drawing holds the red and the near-black in balance across the face. At 6'5" by 10'6", it fits a living room with the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug, or beside a queen bed.
