4122 · 8'6" x 13'1" Persian Najafabad Oversized Rug

Charming birds sit in the wide main border. Graceful pale ivory vines loop over a deep red field, carrying blossoms in blue, rose and cream. A handsome lobed blue medallion holds a cream core worked with rose and brown flowers. Blue palmette pendants reach out from it toward each end. Cream corner pieces set with dark navy and rust flower sprays close the field. The wide main border has a cream ground with a gold cast. It carries lobed cartouches in blue and rust among blossoms, vines and a few small birds. A thin red guard stripe frames it. A few thin patches and pale flecks show where the pile has softened near the medallion. It suits oak floors and warm white walls, where the cream border lifts the deep red toward the light. At 8'6" by 13'1", it fits a dining table for six with the chairs pulled out, or a full living room seating group.
