4347 · 3'6" x 11'10" Persian Ardabil Runner Rug

The cream hexagon in the middle of this lovely rug has a small red core. Over a burgundy field, a column of seven medallions runs down the runner. A cream hexagon sits at the center with a small red core. Gorgeous blue pendant figures with hooked arms and pink and red stripes lie above and below it, then near-black hexagons holding olive and red. A cream hooked figure with a red core closes each end. The main border is cream, set with zigzags in olive, green and red. An olive zigzag band lies inside it, an outer band of navy carries red zigzags, and thin green stripes edge them. Full pile runs the length of the runner. It holds a long passage together, where the burgundy ground lets the cream and blue figures stand out. At 3'6" by 11'10", it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
