A chain of three large diamond medallions makes this a wonderful rug. The deep red field holds three large diamond medallions in a chain down the center, each set in a frame of camel and cream stripes. The gorgeous middle medallion has a dark blue center, and the outer two have red ones, with small stepped figures in the cores. Small hooked motifs sit in the red ground between these main figures. A wide cream border carries a checked row of small squares in red, teal and black, and a dark brown band closes the outside. Narrow guard stripes in red and brown line the inner edge. The pile is full over the face, and the angular drawing stays crisp. The dense drawing fills a tight corridor with bold color and clear lines. At 3'5" by 11', it fits a hallway or the space along the side of a bed.
