4410 · 9'7" x 12'11" Persian Mashhad Oversized Rug

Palmettes in red, pink, teal and olive fill the navy border with lovely detail. Deep red covers the field, where charming curling vines and small blossoms in olive, steel blue and muted pink scatter throughout. A large lobed medallion in near-black anchors the middle, holding a red and blue core, with pendants above and below. Handsome near-black corner pieces fill each field corner, each holding a lavender and pink palmette. The wide main border is navy, set with large palmettes in red, pink, teal and olive. Cream bands of small flowers and leaves flank it, with a narrow blue stripe at the outer edge. The pile is low in places across the field, with pale specks where the foundation shows. The navy border frames the red center across a large room. At 9'7" by 12'11", it fits a dining table for six with the chairs pulled out, or a full living room seating group.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
