5369 · 8'8" x 11'6" Persian Mashhad Oversized Rug

Lovely pink and lavender palmettes sit in the near-black corner pieces. On a deep red field, flower heads in pink, cream, blue and green spread across the face on scrolling stems. A beautiful near-black diamond medallion frames a rust-outlined red core, surrounded by lavender and pink flowers with a narrow tip at each end. Large pink and lavender palmettes sit at each angle within the near-black corner pieces. The handsome main border is near-black, with red and pink palmettes picked out in blue and cream. Cream bands of small red, blue and green flowers lie on both sides of it, with a narrow blue and gold stripe at the outer edge. Wear runs in broad patches across the left of the field and through the medallion, where the pile is low and the foundation shows. It holds a large room together, with the deep red and cream bands setting the tone. At 8'8" by 11'6", it fits a dining table for six with the chairs pulled out, or a full living room seating group.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
