5375 · 8'10" x 11'9" Persian Mashhad Oversized Rug

Cream and pale blue tip the near-black corner pieces of this lovely rug. Set within a deep red field, scrolling vines and flower heads in cream, blue and rust spread across the face. A handsome near-black diamond medallion rests in the middle, holding a cream core with a steel blue center and a pointed lobe at each end. Near-black corner pieces tipped in cream and pale blue sit at the four angles of the field. The gorgeous main border runs near-black, carrying red vines and palmettes in rust and cream. A steel blue band between cream stripes of small red and blue flowers lies inside the border. Pile runs low in places over the field, and a few white specks mark the foundation. It suits a large room, where the near-black border and deep red field give it weight. At 8'10" by 11'9", it fits a dining table for six with the chairs pulled out, or a full living room seating group.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
