The large stepped medallion, dark brown inside, makes this a lovely rug. A deep red field is filled with charming serrated leaves and small blossoms in rose and blue. At its center sits a large stepped medallion, dark brown inside, with a cream outlined core holding a tiny rosette, and a pendant at each end. Beautiful cream corner pieces square off each corner and carry small red panels and blue flower heads. The narrow main border runs red as well, with scrolled blossoms in blue and brown, and a thin stripe of small diamonds edges the two ends. The dark brown parts of the medallion have worn lower than the red, and the weave shows through in many places. It grounds a room with its red and brown, and the cream corners let in some light. At 6' by 10', it fits a living room with the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug, or beside a queen bed.
