Geometric vines and small rosettes in deep red, antique gold and olive make this a lovely rug. Across a deep indigo field, a dense lattice of geometric vines and small rosettes in deep red, antique gold and olive fills the space. A central chain of three hexagons runs down the middle, the middle one holding a camel ground with a stylized flower core. Handsome red corner pieces with cream serrated edges close the four corners of the field. The main border is burgundy, carrying a repeat of octagonal rosettes and diamond shapes in gold, orange and blue. Narrow guard stripes in dark indigo and red edge the border on both sides. A few small low spots show as white flecks in the dark field and the borders, and the pile is full elsewhere. It anchors a sitting area, and the dark ground lets the red motifs glow. At 5' by 10'3", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.
