5368 · 8'10" x 11'3" Persian Hamedan Oversized Rug

The deep red medallion on the navy field is amazing. On a navy field, fine vines and small flower heads in rust, cream and teal spread out from the center. The medallion is deep red with a blue lozenge and a cream core, and a red pendant reaches above and below it. Splendid salmon and red corner pieces with cream scrolls shape the field into a long oval. The main border is a band of deep red, set with large blue, pink and cream blossoms on a curling vine. Guard stripes in cream, blue and green run along both sides. A scatter of white specks in the navy field marks small low spots in an otherwise full pile, and the red of the border reads paler near the top left. It anchors a large room, the dark ground letting the rust and cream motifs stand clear. At 8'10" by 11'3", it fits a dining table for six with the chairs pulled out, or a full living room seating group.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
