A large star medallion with a red diamond core holds the center of this lovely rug. Angular vines and small flower heads in ivory, olive and slate blue fill the deep red field. A large star medallion sits at the center, a red diamond core inside an ivory ring, with stepped lozenge pendants above and below. Ivory ground fills both ends of the field with dainty red and olive flowers, and each corner holds a small near-black block. The gorgeous main border is near-black, carrying red and cream rosettes and hexagons. A wide olive-brown band set with small red and cream flowers lies inside it. A few small low spots show near the center. It brings warm red and ivory together, with the near-black border holding the frame. At 7'3" by 9'7", it fits a dining table for four with the chairs pulled out, or a living room with the sofa and chairs fully on it.
