Two stacked hexagonal medallions sit in the dark brown panel of this lovely rug. Set within a cream field, a central panel of dark brown holds two splendid stacked hexagonal medallions worked in cream and deep red. Small red marks point inward from the dark brown ground toward the geometric cores. A wide border of cream carries a lattice of small diamonds in charcoal and red around this center. Narrow guard stripes with tiny red marks separate the main border from the inner panel. The pile is low in places, and white specks show where the foundation appears. The dark brown center contrasts with the lighter surround, and it suits a corner. At 1'8" by 1'8", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.
