Large floral sprays and scrolling vines in dusty rose and near-black make this a charming rug. Over a cream field, large floral sprays and scrolling vines in dusty rose and near-black fill the space around a tall central medallion. The splendid medallion is made of two joined lobed ovals with a dense floral core. Large floral pieces sit in the four corners, framing the center with heavy vine work. A narrow pale cream band, edged with thin dark lines and small dots, closes the rug on every side. A few patches have thinned, and the foundation shows where the rose reads paler. Dusty rose and cream sit against wood floors. At 5'5" by 8'4", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
About Isparta rugs
Under the name “Isparta quality” the carpets of Isparta were famous in the early years of the Turkish Republic. In its day the Isparta Carpet Palace was the largest carpet exchange in Turkey. Isparta lies in the lake country of southwestern Turkey, where workshops spent the twentieth century weaving Persian-influenced floral designs in a Turkish palette of cream and rose. This rug follows that tradition with a clear medallion and heavy corner work. The dusty rose and near-black drawing sits lightly on the cream, giving the pattern a washed, open look.

Shipping is free and fully insured in the US and Canada. To the UK, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand we ship fully insured, with rates calculated at checkout. Orders are processed and shipped within one to four days and most arrive within about ten days, sometimes as fast as three depending on your location, carefully wrapped, with tracking sent the moment your rug leaves us.

Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
