Brown vines and small rosettes form a dense herati lattice on the gray brown field of this charming rug. A gray brown field holds a dense herati lattice made of brown vines and small rosettes. At the center, a handsome diamond medallion outlined in dark brown has a worn pale core. Pale gray beige spandrels with a stepped edge fill the four corners. A narrow gray brown border frames the field, with thin guard stripes beside it. The pile is worn low in patches around the medallion and along the center line, and the foundation shows through. The colors have had a light antique wash that softened them without reaching the drawing. It grounds a room in warm earth tones, with faint steel blue notes scattered through the vines. At 4'6" by 9'8", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.
