1443 · 7'10" x 11'8" Persian Kashan Oversized Rug

The winding dark blue vines are charming against the terracotta. On a terracotta field, winding dark blue vines and small blossoms, with touches of green, spread across the open ground. A small diamond medallion rests at the center, worked in dark blue with a pale halo. Pretty dark blue sprays sit at the four corners of the field. The wide main border keeps the terracotta ground, scattered with small dark blue blossoms and scrolls. Narrow dark blue guard stripes line it on both sides. The rug carries a light antique wash that softened the colors without reaching the drawing, and the pile is thin in the field. It suits a warm room, the dark blue accents reading clearly against the terracotta ground. At 7'10" by 11'8", it fits a dining table for four with the chairs pulled out, or a living room with the sofa and chairs fully on it.

It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
