2396 · 3'7" x 6'3" Persian Baluch Area Rug

Columns of deep red hexagons and smaller diamonds repeat down the length of this remarkable rug. On a cream field, columns of deep red hexagons and smaller diamonds repeat down the length, linked by short striped bars. A central medallion is absent; instead, an all-over lattice of geometric forms fills the space in red and near-black. The main border is burgundy, carrying a row of beautiful hooked diamond shapes in red and near-black. Narrow guard stripes of small zigzags and dotted lines in red and near-black edge the field on every side. The pile is full across the face and borders. The dense drawing holds the eye with its strict geometry, the deep red shapes standing out against the light ground. At 3'7" by 6'3", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
