A large hexagon with a cream cross holds the center of this wonderful rug. On a cream ground, a column of geometric medallions in deep red and dark teal runs down the center. The large central hexagon holds a cream cross, while stepped star forms anchor the top and bottom, with a small diamond between each pair. Small red and teal motifs fill the cream spaces around these main figures. A narrow navy border frames the rug, with a thin red stripe inside it. The pile is full. The dense drawing brings weight to a small passage, the dark teal notes cooling the warm red centers. At 1'7" by 4'6", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.

About Gharajeh rugs
The best-known pattern of Gharajeh is three geometric medallions, the central one with a latch-hooked outline in a different color and the other two eight-pointed stars. Gharajeh, also spelled Karaja, is a village district in northwestern Persia, north of Heriz. Its signature is a column of separate medallions down a narrow field, each a different shape, rather than a single centered one. That layout suits long formats, and runners are the pieces the district is known for. This rug keeps that vertical arrangement, with a hexagon at the center and star forms above and below. The deep red and dark teal drawing stands out against the cream ground, filling the narrow format with bold geometric shapes.

Orders are processed and shipped within one to four days and most arrive within about ten days, sometimes as fast as three depending on your location, carefully wrapped, with tracking sent the moment your rug leaves us.

Every knot in this rug was tied by hand, one at a time, on an upright loom. A piece like this is the work of two or three weavers sitting side by side for months, wool worked row by row into a pattern carried from memory, its colors softened by decades of light and use. Nothing about it was quick, and no two are ever the same.
The kind of thing that only gets better with age, and quietly passes from one home to the next.
