Hexagons framed in cream alternate between large and small on this charming rug. Small geometric figures in deep red, cream and navy scatter across the brick red field. A column of handsome medallions travels down the center, hexagons framed in cream that alternate between large and small. Each holds a dense core of navy and red geometry. Hooked motifs and small diamonds fill the ground around them, and a narrow near-black stripe edges the rug on both sides. The pile is low in places over the face, with pale patches where the weave has thinned. A strong vertical line suits a narrow space, and the cream frames lift the heavy ground. At 1'6" by 4'7", it fits an entry, a hallway corner or the space beside a bed.
