5049 · 4'2" x 7'9" Persian Ferdos Area Rug

This lovely rug has a near-black central hexagon with a cream core. Small rosettes and geometric stars fill the burgundy field around a large central hexagon. This near-black medallion holds a cream core and rows of small blossoms in dusty rose and rust. Notched pendants extend from the top and bottom of the central shape into the red ground. Splendid spandrels at the four corners carry cream stars and stepped motifs against a near-black ground. The main border runs navy with small green and pink flowers, framed by guard stripes of red and olive triangles. The pile is worn low across the middle, with pale areas where the foundation shows. The deep red and navy suit a corner of the room. At 4'2" by 7'9", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
