5322 · 4'2" x 8'2" Persian Hamedan Area Rug

The brown hexagonal medallion of this charming rug is surrounded by a dense lattice of rust, pink and sage motifs. On a near-black navy field, a dense lattice of rust, pink and sage motifs surrounds a handsome brown hexagonal medallion. Its pink core holds small figures, and pendants extend above and below. Beautiful salmon corner pieces edged with blue steps sit in the four corners. The main border is cream, carrying angular red scrolls, blue figures and green rosettes. Red bands with small flowers frame it on each side. Pile runs low in spots, and white specks dot the field. It holds a strong graphic weight through the contrast between its field and its cream border. At 4'2" by 8'2", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.
