4x6 Vintage Rugs

Vintage Persian and Turkish rugs measuring roughly 4x6 feet. A small area rug for a seating corner or a child’s room.

Most of this size is Persian, led by Torkaman, while Isparta rugs bring the Turkish side. Deep red and burgundy fields are the most common, with some cream and soft pink.

Each 4x6 is a one-off, hand-knotted about fifty years ago and cleaned by specialist rug washers we have trusted for years before it was listed. Treat 4x6 as a guide rather than a promise, because hand-knotted rugs vary a little in size. The real measurements, in feet and inches and in centimeters, are on each rug’s page.

Shipping is free and insured to the US and Canada, and you have seven days to return a rug (fourteen in the European Union).

Where a 4x6 rug works

A 4x6 pulls a small space together: an entry with a console table, a reading corner, the floor under a small coffee table or a child’s room.

Rooms it suits

We also show this size in hallway and entry rugs, kids room rugs and study and office rugs.

Sizes around it

Before choosing a 4x6, compare the 3x5 rugs and 4x7 rugs, since a few inches either way can change how a room feels. Medium rugs gathers the whole range, and the size guide shows the right size for each room.

A mix of Persian and Turkish

Most 4x6 rugs here are Persian, and the names that come up most often are Torkaman, Isparta and Ferdos. Isparta is the Turkish name in that list; the Torkaman guide and the Isparta guide set the two traditions side by side.

Before the first step on it

In a child’s room or a reading corner, a thin pad keeps the rug from sliding when someone sits down on it; our rug pad guide explains which to get. There is no charge for insured shipping to the US and Canada, and shipping and returns explains returns.
