3x5 Vintage Rugs
Vintage rugs measuring roughly 3x5 feet, the standard accent size for an entry or a small bedroom.
Almost everything in this size is Persian, with Baluch rugs well ahead of Torkaman. Deep red and burgundy fields make up most of the group.
Every 3x5 is one of a kind, knotted by hand about fifty years ago and professionally washed before it was listed. Hand-knotted sizes wander a little, so a rug called 3x5 may be slightly off in either direction. You will find each rug’s measured size in feet, inches and centimeters on its page.
We cover insured shipping to the US and Canada at no charge, and returns are accepted for seven days (fourteen in the European Union).

Where a 3x5 rug works
A 3x5 is wide enough to hold a full doorway and long enough to feel like a proper rug. It works at a bedside, in front of a fireplace or under a small desk.
Rooms to look at
Rugs in this size are also listed with our hallway and entry rugs, bedroom rugs and study and office rugs.
Neighboring sizes
If your space falls between two sizes, the 3x4 rugs and 4x6 rugs sit just below and above this one. You can browse everything in this range under small rugs, and the size guide works out what fits each room.
Regions in this size
Almost all 3x5 rugs here are Persian, and the names that come up most often are Baluch, Torkaman and Arak. Baluch rugs are the largest group by far, and the Baluch guide, the Torkaman guide and the Arak guide each describe their region’s style.
Pads and delivery
Wool on a hard floor holds better with a thin pad beneath it; see our rug pad guide for which type to buy. There is no shipping charge within the US and Canada, the parcel is insured, and shipping and returns covers the rest.
