The deep red field is crowded with graceful scrolling vines, palmettes and flower heads in cream, tan and brown. Matching vine work fills the corners, closing the field without separate spandrel panels. A wide tan border runs a scroll of cream and blue blossoms, edged by narrow guard stripes of dark vine and small flowers. The pile wears thin across the field, and the white foundation shows through in fine lines. The warm red ground holds the cream drawing clearly. At 6'8" by 10'4", it fits a living room with the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug, or beside a queen bed.
