2586 · 5'1" x 13' Persian Gharajeh Area Rug

Stepped stars and notched diamonds alternate down this lovely rug. Small geometric motifs in cream, blue and gold scatter across the burgundy field. Seven handsome medallions run down the center, alternating stepped stars with notched diamonds that have cream or ochre surrounds. The main border is a dark band filled with small red, blue and cream geometric figures. An olive guard stripe with small crosses edges the field, flanked by narrow bands of red and cream checks. The pile is full across the face and borders. It grounds a long space, with the burgundy ground and ochre accents leading the eye down the room. At 5'1" by 13', it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.
