At its center, this lovely rug has a large lobed medallion. Across a deep red field, small floral sprays in cream, pale blue and sage green scatter around a central shape. A large lobed medallion sits at the center, holding a geometric core of plum and navy with beautiful notched pendants reaching toward the top and bottom. Gorgeous dark spandrels fill the four corners, carrying large cream rosettes and curling vines against a navy ground. The main border runs navy with a scroll of cream palmettes and blossoms, edged by thin guard bands of small flowers on a tan ground. The pile is low in places across the red field, where small white specks show. It grounds a sitting area, and the dark corners frame the bright red center. At 6'6" by 9'9", it fits a living room with the front legs of the sofa and chairs on the rug, or beside a queen bed.
