4671 · 4' x 6'8" Persian Ferdos Area Rug

Rows of dark brown octagonal medallions repeat in a lattice on this charming rug. On a deep red field, rows of dark brown octagonal medallions repeat in a lattice, each holding a geometric core of steel blue, pink and tan. Smaller octagons sit between the larger ones, linked by dainty hooked brown vines that fill the red ground. The gorgeous main border is near-black, carrying small pink rosettes inside brown diamonds, and a narrow guard stripe of diagonal orange and black marks the edge. A few patches in the field are worn low, with the weave showing as pale specks. The brown drawing keeps the red from looking too bright beside a reading chair. At 4' by 6'8", it fits a bedroom beside the bed, a study under a desk, or a small sitting area.

Every rug we sell is one of a kind, and this is the only one like it. It is hand-knotted wool pile on a cotton foundation, professionally washed and cleaned before it reaches you, and shipped folded and fully insured. Age-related wear and the small inconsistencies of a handmade weave are part of what these rugs are.
